My Author Talks for middle grade students are interactive presentations that give participants an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas. Some of the topics I cover include: • My experiences as a child writer and the teachers who helped me • How some of my real-life experiences became fiction • Why humor is a great tool for serious subjects • What it’s like to be a writer Let’s Write Together! Workshops for elementary and middle school students include: Writing Fiction from Real-life Experiences Students identify real-life experiences and practice reimagining them to begin fictional stories. Make ‘em Laugh Students learn to use the tools of humor to make their writing more engaging. Beginnings, Middles, and Endings Techniques young writers can use to make good stories even better. |
